Inspired by the brave space created by adventure and wilderness therapists, WildGathering was created to bring practitioners and students together to foster community, creativity and innovation.
Who?You, of course!
Any wilderness or adventure therapy professional or student, traditional therapist, rec therapist, outdoor guide, OB or NOLS staff... (or anyone who is interested in this amazing work!)

When?Fall?
WildGathering begins Friday evening (for dinner, planning and networking) through Sunday morning.

Where?Probably Your House
Mostly because we may run this as a virtual conference. Not too sure yet. Hang with us though, as you are with all other organizations who are on pause. Thank you!

What is an un-Conference?
An un-conference is a gathering around a common topic, where creativity and innovation are not just encouraged, they are planned. Sessions are not confirmed in advance, rather proposed on the day of the UnConference.
Q: Are there sessions scheduled during an un-conference?
A: Yes, there will be one pre-planned keynote address to start the conference off on the right foot. The rest of the time is for YOU to fill!
Q: So, I can plan the sessions?
A: Yes! You can come with an idea, planned out to the minute, or be inspired as the weekend unfolds. See the Un-Conference planning page for more details.

A: Yes! This year's theme is "Creative Collaborations." Our goal is to support the mental health community through innovative professional development, refreshing personal connections and inspiring events. Your perspective and input on creating community is vital, so bring your thoughts, concerns, ideas and insight to share!

This year's WildGathering is centered around "Creative Collaborations." You are invited to bring your ideas on the theme to share - Have an idea for a connecting with professionals outside the field? Have a solution to a problem regarding resources or programing? Have some insight, wisdom, passion or curiosity to share? Prep ahead of time, be inspired on the day-of, or come as you are to enjoy this professional growth experiment.

Then let'sWork
When you arrive at the property you'll check in and set off to help your community set up. We have a full schedule, packed with empty session slots for you to fill. We will come together and set intentions on our first night, then give space to begin schedule planning. Meals will be eaten together, cleanup and take down done together as well. What you take from this experience is up to you, and you'll have a passionate new crew to support your next adventure.

While WildGathering is just once per year, we are committed to fostering year-long connections. You'll be encouraged to make plans based on what you learn, to network and exchange information, as well as learn ways to stay connected online. Taking action on what we learn and share will keep the momentum going into 2020!
